Stephen King Filmography

There is an ever-growing list of filmed entertainments based on Stephen King's works. Included in this list are the major motion pictures based on his novels, the so-called "Dollar Babies" based on short works, television series episodes, made for TV movies and mini-series, and works originally written by King for film. Then there are works like The Lawnmower Man, which shares a title with a Stephen King story and pretty much nothing else. We have decided to remove any redundant titles, or titles which collect previously released material, such as Stephen King's Golden Tales, a VHS release that compiles several episodes of Tales From The Darkside, most of which have nothing to do with Stephen King.

The list is chronological by the film's release or production date, and where possible each title links to its corresponding IMDb page. When we review a specific title, a link to our piece will also become available. Whenever the title differs from the source material, or if the title is an anthology, the original title(s) will be listed below the film's entry.

This is as complete and accurate a filmography for Stephen King as we can compile right now. Discounting of course the numerous adaptations that will be put into production over the next year or so, it's likely there are Dollar Babies that have been lost to the ages, and surely there are numerous unofficial adaptations (such as the Hindi television series Woh, which is based on his novel It) of which we are currently unaware or have not had the chance to see. If there are any omissions, please feel free to drop us a line and we'll do our best to ratify the list.
